The 2007-08 ski season was one of broad-reaching success for the
Okemo/OMS
Freestyle Program.
We witnessed growth and victory at all levels of the program, beginning
with the Fresh Start Freestylers -- a new developmental program in its
first year in '07, coached by OMS Freestyle alum Giovanna Urist, that had
a lot of interest and graduated some future stars to our B mogul team.
Highlights from the B Mogul Team's season include the "home court podium
sweep" at the USSA EQS Okemo comp on President's weekend, accomplished by
Will Conroy, Curtis Pazdar, and Dan Ladd. On the A mogul team, Ryan
Heitsmith and Karns White made their way to Eastern Championships.
On the Freeride, or "park and pipe" side of the coin, current OMS Frerider
Dale Talkington '10 was the USSA Eastern points leader for Slopestyle;
Talkington and Andrew Holson '10 -- along with alumni Tim Maney '05, Brady
Lee '05, Andrew Napier '06 and Len Ancuta '06 -- and their film production
company 4BI9's "Slamina," won Best Amateur Film of the Year at the
International Freeskiing Film Festival in Montreal. Check out
